Did you know that belly dance originated as a ritual to aid women during labor & childbirth?
This first of its kind workshop will teach women how to move efficiently & safely throughout their pregnancies and beyond, preventing musculoskeletal injuries, strengthening core and respiratory muscle recruitement patterns, while connecting to their feminine power, creative self expression, and natural birthing ability.  Techniques can be integrated into all styles and levels of fitness, dance, yoga instruction, and forms of childbirth preparation. Techniques learned promote optimal dynamic stability with flexibility of the spine, pelvis, hips, and shoulders and are based on current research studies.  A review of core muscle anatomy is recommended but not required.
 
Upon completion of this course participants will:

Yoga teachers, physical therapists, chiropractors, doulas, midwives, nurses, fitness instructors, personal trainers, lactation consultants, & childbirth educators.
 
Instructor
Michelle Maniaci is a licensed physical therapist for 13 years who specializes in pre/postnatal fitness & healing.  She is an Integrative Yoga Therapist, Belly Dance Teacher, & Infant Massage Instructor.  Michelles passion is sharing movement science based yoga & belly dance to offer the highest degree of safety, effectiveness, & integrity for pre/post natal professionals & teachers, women, & families.
