According to the National
Cancer Institute, there is strong evidence that physical activity is associated
with decreased risk of breast and colon cancers. Most studies suggest that 30 to 60 minutes per day of
moderate- to high-intensity physical activity is associated with a reduction in
breast cancer risk (1,2). Research indicates that after a diagnosis of breast cancer, physical activity may be beneficial to improve the quality of life, reduce fatigue(3), and assist with energy balance. NURTURING MOVES, created by Michelle Maniaci, is a form of holistic and integrative physical
activity that unites modern science with ancient wisdom and empowered femininity to maximize self-healing, creative self-expression, and provide a form of therapeutic physical activity for the unique needs of women
living life to the fullest through cancer.
Michelle evaluates your whole being and co-creates a
personalized healing and wellness program so you may benefit on all levels of your mind, body, breath and
spirit. The approach blends Holistic Physical Therapy, Adapted Yoga and Belly Dance Movements, Ancient Wisdom Massage, Energy Medicine, Shamanic Healing, Aquatic Therapy and Bodywork, and Deep Relaxation
techniques. The science-based effectiveness of physical therapy combined with the fusion of breath-guided yoga and belly dance based rhythmical movements create an ideal healing environment.

MY INSPIRATION FOR PINK NURTURING MOVES...
Every moment is an opportunity to celebrate life no matter what we are faced with. The diagnosis of cancer may bring emotions of fear, frustration and anger to name a few. Twenty years ago, I learned firsthand how cancer impacts women, breasts and their family when my mothers only sister was diagnosed. I learned how important it is to educate, support and nurture women healing through cancer. This experience coupled with my background as a holistic physical therapist, yoga therapist, belly dance teacher and energy healer has inspired me to create a scientific, sensual and spiritual approach to healing, energizing and living more fully alive through cancer and beyond. Join me in loving support as we celebrate life and every moment with our Nurturing Moves.
